  • 11/16 Peter Groffman on Ecological Homogenization

    The Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (EEB) and Department of Natural Resources and the Environment (NRE) will jointly host Dr. Peter Groffman, Professor at the Advanced Sciences Research Center, City University of New York. His talk will focus on “Ecological Homogenization of Urban America.” The seminar will take place from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM in the Dodd Center - Konover Auditorium. Appetizers and refreshments will be served during the networking reception following the seminar from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM.

    Dr. Groffman is a global leader in understanding the functioning of urban ecosystems. His work provides a template for understanding commonalities among urban ecosystems at the continental scale. His recent work is a prime example of a research program focused on Macrosystems Biology, a major focus of the National Science Foundation Biological Sciences Directorate.
