The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences invites you to attend a seminar on Wednesday, October 31, 2018, 3:30 - 4:30pm, Pharmacy/Biology Buidling (PBB) room 131
Tycho Heimbach, Ph.D.
Director, PK Sciences, PBPK and Biopharmaceutics, Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research
Seminar Title "PBPK Models in Drug Discovery and Development"
Dr. Heimbach contributed to a priori PBPK modeling for 20+clinical trials and has authored/coauthored 15+ IND’s. Dr. Heimbach has strongly promoted the use of BCS and BDDCS in drug development for likely food effect outcomes in the clinic within Novartis as well as at external scientific meetings and symposia. As a result, absorption and food effect PBPK modeling are now routinely conducted for oral drugs at Novartis. Since 2009 he has been a leader in the prediction of pharmacokinetics and absorption for human trials. He also serves as an expert to guide prodrug strategies to improve drug targeting and is an IQ consortium food-effect expert member and serves as the Novartis IQ consortium member for PBPK and organ impairment.
