  • 10/12 AVP of Budget, Management & Institutional Research

    Dear Colleagues,

We wanted to share with you some well-deserved news related to Lloyd Blanchard.

As you know, Lloyd has been serving as the interim Associate Vice President of Budget and Planning since February of this year.  He has also continued to serve as Associate Vice Provost of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.  Since February, the University’s senior administration has assessed and determined that under his leadership, and in concert with the University’s interest in creating a more data-driven management and budgeting effort, the departments of Budget and Planning and Institutional Effectiveness should be centrally managed by Lloyd on a permanent basis effective October 12, 2018.  Lloyd’s title will be Associate Vice President of Budget, Management and Institutional Research and he will continue to report jointly to the Executive Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer and the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs.

In addition to the traditional roles of each office under his direction, Lloyd is being tasked with helping to create greater synergies and additional collaborations throughout university offices by aligning and connecting institutional research services to strategic and long-range financial planning.  By broadening the existing functions of the Budget Office into a greater management role we will provide better tools and support for management decisions. We are confident this new business model and organizational structure will improve current operations and advance the University mission while fulfilling our important, strategic goals.

Please join us in congratulating Lloyd.
