  • Eczema Research 2 Year Study Farmington

Do you have moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (also known as eczema)?

Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is a chronic non-contagious skin condition that causes intensely itchy inflammation of the skin. Common symptoms of atopic dermatitis include: dry, cracked skin, patches of red, scaly, and inflamed skin that may become itchy, tiny or large blisters, and pus-filled lesions.

The Department of Dermatology at UConn Health is conducting a research study testing an investigational medication, compared to placebo for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (eczema). In order to qualify, your eczema must cover at least 10% of your body surface area (or an area equal to 10 palm sized patches). Individuals must not have received treatment with oral JAK inhibitors (e.g., tofacitinib, ruxolitinib) in the last 4 weeks. There is no cost to participate in this research study, and qualified participants will receive reimbursement for travel related expenses.

If you or someone you know is 18 years of age or older, has been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis (eczema) for at least 12 months, and is struggling to control it despite topical (applied to the skin) treatment, please contact:
