  • Volunteers Wanted for a Research Study

You are invited to participate in a research study to investigate how users of safety-critical system interact with the system.

In the study, you will play multiple sessions of a video game simulating the use of a drone system while being videotaped. You will answer questionnaires about your experience with the system multiple times during the study.

You may be eligible to participate in the study if you are 18 years of age or older, have normal hearing, normal or corrected-to-normal vision, and ability to use both hands at the same time to control a joystick. If you have a history of seizures or head injuries, you cannot participate in the study. Note that the study will take approximately 80 – 100 minutes long that involves four sessions of game play with each session about 7 minutes long with breaks in between to answer survey questions, which can be tiring and cause physical and/or mental exhaustion. Moreover, if you were a participant in our other study titled “Understanding the Effect of System Interface Attributes on Use of Safety-Critical Systems,” you will not be eligible to participate in this one.

This study will take 80 - 100 minutes at a date and time agreed upon by you and the investigators, and will take place in BECAT room A-20 on the Storrs campus.

You will be compensated with a $30 Amazon gift card for completion of the study.

If you are interested to participate, please complete this (https://goo.gl/tg9o6F) brief screening survey to see if you are eligible for the study. Note that you will not receive any compensation if you are found to be ineligible to participate.
